You Are My Happy Valentine by Okee Igboegbunam

You Are My Happy Valentine!

I’ve searched for a different way to say
I love you on a Valentine's Day

Not with a poem gracefully wild
Or essays tame and rhyme-filled
Or petals glowing with golden pubescence
But a heart that rings out in silence
Saying I'm yours till the end of time.

I’m not with a rose that wilts at the day's end
Or a card with dog-eared edges that can bend
I come neither with a flower buds-full with emotions
Nor a song to celebrate Love’s effusions
But a special way to just make you feel fine

Looking everywhere, finding nothing special
For you my Dearly-Sweet Unusual
Baring the one thing you already know
The Word alive in the Love that I show
So these words are special to this Time

My heart says I’ll live to make you fine
I Love You My Sweet Valentine!

  1. Definitely the best composition I've read this Val. Super flow, nice dictum. Happy Valentine's Day!

  2. Very outstanding, this poem is in a mode of John Milton's 'Le Allegro" or P.B. Shelly's 'Ode to a Nightingale.' You should publish a compilation.

  3. Very enticing and self-winding. What comes in or out is one desired and it's LOVE, "I love you my sweet valentine"

  4. Poignant! Reminds me of your "Ode To My Valentine." keep it on

ERETZ is a man on the sunny-side of life, in search of greater perhaps. Born of an ancient Hebrew race known as Igbo (Africans call them BIAFRANS) his DNA shows as much "Y" Kohenite Chromosomes as that of the Israeli Jews. Somewhat a polymath, ERETZ is an interdisciplinary, multi-skilled expert who uses cross-sectional experiences for service delivery. He's a Motivational Speaker with a loving capacity to help and improve people’s social-expansion experience. He's always joyful in his Christ-conscious predilection for change that is both pedestal and pivotal -that results inexorably from and within the inebriated propensity of "ASK," delved from Matt 7:7 to mean: A = Ask; S = Seek; K = Knock. DOWN-TO-EARTH: He was born a twin in a fairly large and loving African family. Eretz is a single-minded individual with good sense of humor (it will not be immodest to call him a chattered libertine). He is simple yet principled. A 'trilingual poet:' Music is his past time. "Music is primarily emotional and not an intellectual appeal." So all the genres (the vaudevillian music hall) appeals; from soft melodic to the rowdy melodramatic with the exaggerated pomp and pageantry.
